Essential Items You Should Have In Your Classic Car Kit

Calling for help in the middle of the road due to an engine failure is the worst nightmare for classic car owners. The manufacturer of such an old vehicle has stopped making the model long ago, and you will not get compatible parts from other motorists passing by. Since things could become ugly when all the odds are against you, preparing for such a situation is crucial. Add these items to your checklist if you plan to take a long drive in your Corvette car.

Spare parts

If you decide not to retrofit your old car with modern technology, you will still be driving with components built decades ago. You won't find them at general auto part stores and car repair shops. Before taking off the ride, get all essential parts such as oil filters, hoses, brake pads, spark plugs, fuses, and tires. When you are unfamiliar with a mechanical job, an expert will replace the damaged components with these spare parts.

Tire pump

A flat tire is a common problem in most vehicles, but it is more traumatic, although it sounds easy. Your car tires might not show any weird symptoms when driving out of the garage, but they could just deplete after driving on sharp objects. Scorching hot weather can also burst your tires if you don't check it earlier. Carrying a tire pump in your toolbox can save your life by driving to the nearest repair shop even if you couldn't reach the destination.

Lift kit

Sometimes you cannot inflate a damaged tire because the hoop cannot hold the air for long. In this situation, replacing it with a functioning tire is the only way to drive again. If you are alone on the road, you have to repair it using your devices and skills. Since a car is a heavy vehicle, the lift kit will be quite handy for the job. All you need to do is place the device underneath the car and pull it up slowly until you find the space to let the tire hang loose.

Besides these essential items, you can add a few more accessories to make your journey smooth. Look for everything you need for your Corvette's engine compartment and purchase them from a classic car part dealer.
